The Monthly Bulletin
Although the Bulletin had been operating effectively since 1932 as a means of keeping members informed on Club matters, its scope was broadened considerably after the appointment of Ted George as Editor in May 1935. The introduction of personal notes and news helped to build the comradeship element that was so vital to Carry On being able to achieve its goals.
The following quotes from the Bulletins of that year give some idea of how Ted brought a friendly, less formal feeling to the publication.
After a visit to the Mildura Branch :
" Harry Hall did the trip to Mildura on one and a half gallons of petrol so we hear. He must have had Ethyl on his side. It took two and a half gallons of tea to get Les Mitchell there."
And
Mr. President's address was a trimmer, even our guests were impressed.
